William McLaughlin is well-known in his native Scotland. In the 90's he played with the contemporary Celtic rock band Callanish for six years, sometimes to audiences of 20,000. The band fragmented after six years and called itself The Dockers. They were well known and respected throughout Scotland, particulary in Edinburgh, down in the docks area where the band had its practice studio.
William met fellow musician John Davidson and they went on to form Scirish with the aim of touring Scandinavia. William made his first solo cd at this time, and carried on to tour Denmark twice as a solo performer. Scirish toured a few times until John's band at home were signed in America.
William joined Boys of Bluehill in 2004. He plays with the passion and the fire that comes from the Celtic love of freedom.
